“I love Rumsey. I like the people the most. Our dorm is so positive and inclusive... we clicked instantly.” Katie C. '23

“The Hillside Dorm will be home to 28 students and three faculty families. It will be where they start each Rumsey day, gather with friends and build strong relationships.” Rick Butler, Director of Residential Life

“The best part of Rumsey is the diversity—the family style sense of feeling. It’s what attracted me to this school. We’re all really close and that’s the best part. Because we live together, we have a strong bond. We’re like a really big family.” Jami H. '22

Bodling Academic Center

$4 million

This new academic center will provide four much-needed classrooms to support our academic program in order to avoid continuing to have faculty sharing classrooms and will provide additional academic space. Two faculty residences are included on the top floor to support our burgeoning residential program, and spacious locker rooms below will provide for our female athletes, conveniently located next to the athletic fields.

  • Four best-in-class classrooms
  • A spacious locker room to support our female athletes
  • Two 2-bedroom faculty residences

“Rumsey provides a great learning environment that is rigorous and gives you an opportunity to learn new things. I love that we are able to connect with teachers outside of the classroom to get help either via Zoom or a time during the school day.” Elizabeth E. '24

“The new building will not only eliminate teachers’ having to go from classroom to classroom for different sections, but it will also bolster more collegiality and professionalism in the department.” Doug Kolpak, English Department

“My teachers at Rumsey make classwork fun and exciting and I always look forward to going to my next period. My teachers are always there to support me and are easy to talk to.” Lynx V. '26

Rumsey Hall’s motto, Qui non Proficit Deficit, means ‘He who is not advancing falls behind.’

Rumsey emphasizes effort as a criterion for success and is dedicated to helping each child develop toward his or her maximum stature as an educated person, a successful member of a family and a contributing member of a community.

Honesty, kindness, and respect are not only our core values, but our culture.
