Please submit your end-of-year travel plans via Orah under the End-of-the-Year pass as soon as possible. Even if you are picking your child up, a pass still needs to be submitted. With all students departing campus for the summer recess, we appreciate submitting your plans early so travel can be coordinated effectively. From the Social and Community Leadership Class:
The Social and Community Leadership class has been working with Susan B. Anthony Project this year. The Susan B Anthony Project promotes safety, healing, and growth for all survivors of domestic and sexual abuse and advocates for the autonomy of women and the end of interpersonal violence. The class has been planning and organizing a drive that will begin on May 7th and end the following week on May 14th. This drive will be collecting shampoo and conditioner, razors, body wash, bars of soap, pads and tampons, hygiene products, toothbrushes and toothpaste. This organization helps women who have been in abusive relationships and relocates women and children who are part of a violent relationship. These items will help out the families very much, and we hope you will all consider donating. We understand how difficult it is for the boarding families to find a way to get involved in the in-person drives. Therefore, we have created an Amazon Wishlist for boarding (and all) families to be able to purchase items that will be shipped to Rumsey and then delivered to the SBAP location in Torrington, CT. In addition to the drive, the class will also host a Kickball Tournament on May 23, 2024 where the whole Rumsey community can come together and support this cause. We will be taking cash donations during the week of the drive as well as at the tournament, where there will be a snack bar and bracelets for participants. It is very important to us that we educate everyone in the school, from the young kindies to the teachers and parents of our school, about the importance of the Susan B. Anthony Project. Please join us in support of this amazing cause.
